I'm the OP. I feel so huge now! Last week I had my first stranger ask me when I was due.

I'm also just now starting to feel good, like a glowing pregnancy goddess. I am trying to enjoy it, since I know it won't last.

Anyone else noticing Braxton-Hicks? I'm getting some of those, if I'm overexerted or underhydrated. It's not painful - just a sort of tightness in my uterus that I can feel and touch.

I have a wedding at the end of the month, and I am trying to figure out what to wear...

I wanted to see if there is any interest in keeping this thread going. I'm one of the PPs and just wanted to check in to see how others are doing

Due in August with #2 and had #1 in August. I sweat so much with #1 that I was paranoid that my water was breaking or that I was leaking fluid. It's funny to think back about it.

I lived in sun dresses and skirts in the 3rd trimester. I guzzled water, seltzer and citrus juices, and that seemed to help as I didn't have huge problems with water retention.

There are positives--you child will be old enough to get a flu vac and other vacs before flu season kicks in. DC has a fairly nice fall so you won't be trapped inside.

We should organzie some type of community ice bath on a weekly basis starting in July.

Yes, I was born in Sept in NYC and my mom still talks about how hot it was that summer. I'm due end of July, not looking forward to that aspect...

PP, as a girl, I remember my mom telling me to try and avoid being "very pregnant" in the summer. I am due with my first on August 31!

I love this thread. I'm due at the end of August and wondering what it will be like to be a giant pregnant lady in the middle of the DC summer! I'm excited about having a little baby in the fall though. It's such a great time in DC. Plus, think of the adorable baby costumes for Halloween.

My baby will be two this August, so I don't really belong here, but the thread title made me smile.

When I was pregnant, one of my friends who had a summer baby sent me a little note saying how awesome it is to have a summer baby, not having to worry about winter cold and flu season right away and being able to wear sandals and flowy dresses.

I can now add to her list for Metro riders that an August due date means you're visibly pregnant for the whole summer. I got offered seats all the time, particularly on the hottest days.

Best wishes to all of you!

I never thought about the school thing. Just occurred to me it's a bummer that my child won't celebrate his/her birthday in school. Hadn't thought about the cutoff school thing....

I keep thinking school is a looong way off and there are a lot of things to get through first.

It's great to see this thread! I'm due July 30, and not a FTM. This will be my third, and my others are much older. So trying to figure it out all over again! Wishing everyone else here healthy and sane pregnancies.

+ 1 - so glad to see so much support! BTW, my first was a late summer boy. Try not to stress about it too much, but I will say it is definitely something to think about, to the extent that I'm glad my second - boy or girl (we aren't planning to find out either and didn't with the first) is due in late October. My little guy heads to PK next year, and he is just obviously "younger" than everyone else who will be in his class, if that makes any sense. They aren't the children that are his "peer group" at the playground; those will be in the next year's class just by virtue of having a birthday 6 days later. We're going to see where we are when it comes to K, but we'll hold him back if it seems like it's the best thing for him. It gets to be a divisive issue on these boards. Some people think you're holding them back to give your kid an edge. For us, that's definitely not the case. I just don't want him to lose that last year of being a little kid to K - K is really hard core nowadays. If his birthday were 5 days later, he would be going the next year anyway.

Anyway, wow, sorry, busted in on this thread, and I'm going to let myself back out now. But not before I say I'm holding all of you moms with previous losses in my thoughts. Be well!

- Oops - pumpkin / pepita here - I made myself a screenname but didn't realize i have to log in each time.
