A clinic cannot refuse to transfer embryos, that's outrageous.

If you were expecting a diagnosis and treatment over the phone I don't see how this is an inappropriate response. Symptoms of a yeast infection can mimick many vaginal infections. I cannot see her yelling as the exclamation points would indicate, but I never had a bad experience with her either over the last 3 years. I'm sorry that you did though!

Thanks 11:03 and 11:04 for the discussion of that option - had not really considered that. But I really hope - and trust - it will not come to that! I had a great experience with them in 2010-11.

Though it would be pretty outrageous if GW neither would do a FET cycle in a reasonable time because of short staffing, nor would allow a transfer of embryos!

Not the PP, but I am pretty sure GW does not allow you to do this. Unless they have changed their policies recently.

I just found out the news as I was trying to start a FET cycle (following a successful IVF in 2011) after seeing Dr. Gindoff for an initial appointment early this year. Now far from beginning the cycle this month as planned, I am not even able to get a call back from GW. Trying not to panic. Is anyone else having trouble getting through? I can see that the schedule would be interrupted given Gindoff's departure but to not even get any heads up after repeated calls? I am worried that the practice is just going to be a mess (hopefully just temporarily) but I have no exit options given the frozen embroyos.

Dr. G's name is no longer on the door to the clinic. It only says Dr. F. Haven't yet had trouble getting appts scheduled, though.

So suddenly? W/out a replacement first? And people are not saying? Unman. Inquiring minds want to know. I hope he is ok.

We liked him, too - esp my DH.

Maybe he retired and left the country. I remember he used to have a poster in his office that said, "I love Israel!"

Wow. I can't believe this. I was doing natural cycle IVF and had my initial consult with Dr. G. For my actual procedure (which was a semi-disaster, in that it didn't happen - but that's not important at the moment) I had Dr. F and then he called and spoke to us afterwards to see how we were doing and how to proceed. I didn't think anything of it because he'd been there for the procedure. This is a bit disconcerting. But I was very impressed with Dr. F. I just hope the facility is able to run smoothly and be ok... makes me a bit nervous.

Thanks for the update J! That sure is a bummer about Dr. G though. I like(d) everyone at GW. (What's up with the poster who keeps randomly bashing Melissa??? She was my nurse and I loved her.) But I have to agree with 6:14. Very glad we're not cycling there now because it's basically impossible to get appointments. Poor Dr. F too. Everything on his shoulders. That has to be exhausting. I sure hope Dr. D's replacement starts soon.

I was Dr. Dayal's patient and then switched to Frankfurter when she left. Over the time I was there I noticed that it went from fairly easy to get in for appointments that suited my scheduled (choice of dates/times) for consults to extremely difficult when F and G and were there alone (only one or two appts available and not for weeks). This was especially important to me when I wanted to discuss my failed cycle with F and needed to schedule an appointment before starting again. I couldn't get in for six weeks! I recently made the decision to go to SG but I would caution anybody considering GW to take into consideration the difficulty of getting appointments, especially if you are AMA.

Catherine and Madeline are lovely, I agree. Never saw Dr. G but Dr. Frankfurter is great. I think the whole staff at GW works well together, the financial people, schedulers, etc. Very competent.
