To me, they are nasty and dry. Horrible texture. If I need breadcrumbs, I'll use them for that. If not, they get thrown away.

Agreed! I keep them for myself, though my youngest seems to like crust too so someday I might need to share

Generally eat them toasted with either:
-peanut or almond butter & honey
-sliced avocado with salt

I freeze them then make a big bread pudding with eggs, milk, maple syrup. It's tasty (at least DH and I think so) but the kids don't like it. So now what do I do with the butts of the bread loaf? Bread crumbs? I've never made them and we don't use them often. Ideas??? Thanks!

So right now, you use them to make a yummy treat that you and your husband like, but the kids don't?

I'm failing to see the problem here. Keep doing just what you're doing!

Op here--good point we don't eat quite as much bread as the kids, especially me. Too much makes me tired for some reason. So bread pudding is not something either of us would eat copious amounts of.

To the person who said they should just suck it up...I was that person who scoffed a the parents who cut the crusts off their child's sandwiches. Now? I totally do it. My dd eats much much less of her sandwich if I leave the crust on and she's the type of kid who gets cranky when she doesn't eat enough so I ate my words...ha ha
