This describes our eldest, but we chose Sheridan. Lowell had a similar attraction but 1. is further from our house and 2. the middle school piece was too new for our comfort. We toured Maret, GDS and Sidwell but ultimately filled out the app just for GDS (rejected for K).
The thing is, as a PP pointed out, if your children are objectively at the leading edge of the bell curve, no elementary school experience is going to take that away from them. Even an iffy DCPS cannot snatch that away. So your top %tile kid is going to have an array of choices upon leaving a K-6/8. If you like NPS for 3rd grade and Sidwell for 9-12, your 99%tile son is going to have that Sidwell option upon 6th grade graduation, in all likelihood.
