OP we live in NCC and we are aware of the development plan. I don't see a problem with it and you won't escape it in Kensington. They are developing the entire area along Connecticut and Rockville Pike. There is a Costco and a Wegman's going in Wheaton Plaza and they have already started developing along White Flint Mall. So development is here there and everywhere. We both commute into downtown and go via E/W Highway thru Rock Creek onto Beach and then pop onto 16th, 14th, 13th, or 11th. It's easy and fast. No issues. Plus Forest Glen is close (as is Bethesda but traffic to Bethesda sucks). We have a community pool and Rock Creek Park and a Farm Stand on Jones Bridge. We LOVE it here. Can't recommend it enough.

Why is "North Chevy Chase" in quotes? Isn't that a real neighborhood name? This is unlike "North Potomac", "North Cleveland Park" and "North Georgetown" which are basically realtor contrivances to strech the boundaries of pricier areas but not the real names of neighborhoods.

Sounds like OP said she just wrote the first post, not the posts about the maids, etc.

OP here- just for the record, I only wrote the first post, then the thread was completely hijacked. It is a shame because I know many of us are in the same house-hunting boat and these ridiculous responses just make us waist our time instead of providing the thoughtful responses many at DCUM usually provide.

Anyway, 15:43 thanks for your answer. Interesting to know about the Chevy Chase Lake Drive plan. The area looks as a beautiful community full of great schools, I'm now worried about this plan changing the quality of life in the area.

I will start looking at Kensington, no issues with the address at all, just trying to find the best place for my family to live without the absurd price tag.
