There's a particularly cold corner in my heart reserved for Football and it's fans. Not all of them are immature and clannish rubes but sadly this is the truly the average fan I have met over the years. Plus, a lot of hard core drunks love to use watching football as an excuse to just get polluted and run their mouth about stupid shit.
I don't think most professional athletes are geniuses, but the guys playing football are particularly trashy, dumb and violent. Most stories I hear about guys beating on their old lady, killing someone, date rape, fighting dogs, etc: FOOTBALL
Let's not forget Sandusky....
Most people are not geniuses. You realize of course that these crimes are also committed by thousands of people who don't play football. You don't hear about them because they are not famous.

Anonymous wrote:We said "no" to DS who begged for a year to do football, because of all the brain injuries. We're not big football fans anyway, but we took the kids to a UMD game and it was actually pretty fun. So my advice would be, skip the Skins and try college football, it's much more real.

Ha ha ha. You do know what Ivy League means, right?
Yeah. A popular cheer at a Harvard vs MIT game in my day was that when MIT is losing, the crowds would shout back that they have higher SATs. Yay! MIT isn't Ivy League but their prowess in football fits right in.
