Ask the Leg Warmers if they would do the wedding (for a fee)
Hi Nancy it's Jenny, how's the wedding planning going? Oh good. I've been thinking of having The Leg Warmers play at your wedding as your gift from me, is that something that you would want? Great! I was thinking it would be so awesome and memorable!
Then pay The Leg Warmers $300 min (they may not take it but still offer)

I would rather have a band at my wedding than my bachelorette party (it's not like most people can afford a band who does big concerts for their wedding!) but I would NOT want a surprise. This is crucial OP: NO SURPRISES FOR THE BRIDE.

How would you even "surprise" someone with a band at a wedding? They have to set up. It doesn't even seem logistically possible.

OP said she "once asked about getting tickets." I don't think that translates to "loves them so much I want them to play at my wedding."

I think that if you are very close friends, and you know she loves the band, and the musician is a reliably classy guy, you could ask your friend whether she would trust you to surprise her with some special music at the wedding. And if she says yes, then you could go ahead with a short appearance by the musician between the reception rituals and the dancing.

But really, the bachelorette thing has much more leeway to avoid disaster.

Lol, no I can laugh about it now. I literally stood there with my mouth hanging open and kind of froze. Not that he was stealing my thunder but because I *hate* to dance and it was horribly embarrassing, since I really cannot dance. I can fake a slow dance like a 6th grader but that's about my limit.
And now we have it in film, in front of 120 of my closest friends and family for all to see
And in case you are wondering, no it was not when the song was even popular. It was a good 5 years later.
