And it's not the legnth of the skirt that turns me off to the first dress at a work party but the sequins.

Thank you, kind sir. OP here. It's not a work function, not sure where people thought that. It would be for holiday parties at friends' houses, etc.

Oh well since it's social wear either one - My preference is for the one you originally posted. Every eye in the room will follow you as you walk by.

Did your husband post on here earlier about you dressing like a hooker to go to work?

5 7 is not tall well to some but my wife is 5 10. the key is to have long legs for that not a long torso -

It is trying way too hard. Do you want to look chic and sophisticated or like mutton dressed as (very sparkly) lamb

Too short for a work thing.

Love the blue sequined dress. Don't like the black outfit unless it's for new years eve or something like that. But maybe that's because I don't get invited to holiday parties that require formalish attire.

It looks like the skirt is elasticized and so can be pulled up shorter (like on the model) or down a little longer( like in real life). I would wear it with black hose on the opaque side. I'm 5'10" and love the sheer top.

OP is your office conservative? Personally, I think the skirt is too short and the sequins make it garish. If you want to wear sequins, go longer and pair it with a more conservative top.

I do not like the dress at all, not even on the model so I say no.

Too short. You will look silly trying to pull it off. You sound like you have a great figure, so I would go with something more flattering.
