I worked retail in high school & college and most of my coworkers loved the holidays for the extra hours and money. There are still labor laws requiring hourly workers to have 8 hours between shifts, etc., etc. I'm sure some employees are upset to have to work on a holiday but I bet the vast majority are happy for the extra money. People working retail are used to not having a lot of flexibility in their schedule.
