Apparently, my road is too busy and all the kids in my neighborhood-big-enough-to-support-2-elementary-schools go elsewhere. I probably saw about 30 kids, whereas a school friend on a less busy street said she had 200.

BUMMER! I was totally set with candy. I may just take some bags back and get my money back.

You sound like a real peach.

They can be directed to YOUR home next year and see how you like it. You probably also don't mind for paying for all their medical care, public education, etc. as well.

I know...you go to all the trouble to move away from these HIS (ill) PAN (eg) IC (al) children into your 100% lilly white rich neighborhood and they have the gall to invade for trick or treating. Can't they just stay in their own place?

Only about 12 on our small street, but part of the problem is many of our neighbors don't hand out candy, and their houses are dark (bah humbug), so most kids don't even turn onto our street. There's also a yearly event (Scary Perry in Kensington, where a whole block is closed to cars and residents really go all out for Halloween) about 8 blocks from me, which means many neighborhood kids go there.

We didn't get nearly as many as last year. We were surprised, but blame it on the cold and it being a school night I guess.

Damn, girl, how did we go from passing out Kit Kats to paying for their health care? Take a chill pill.

We had lots of kids come by and we are grateful for a peaceful Halloween after Sandy. I love the looks on their faces when I say, "Please take more than one" Lovely this year.

We are in Springfield and maybe 4-5 kids came by; but then again, on my street of 20 homes, only 7 had lights on for TOT'rs to go to. Bunch'a scrooges.

We bought about 200 pieces of candy. I started out handing out 2 per kid, then had to cut down to 1 per kid. We ran out pretty early (I think around 7:30 0r so?) My kids were still out Trick or Treating with my husband, or else I would have raided their bags to give out more.

I had to turn away a little girl who came up just as I was turning out the lights and bringing in my pumpkins. Even 20 minutes after my lights were out, pumpkins inside, I had people knocking on the door.

Zero in our King Farm apartments. 10 bags of large bags of candy to take to work!

This Laurel neighborhood is only about 5-7 years old. In previous years, we've had 75-90 on a week night and about 150 or so on a weekend. Tonight we had around 120. I'll be buying more candy in the future.

We also live in a cul de sac in Reston and get about 30-35 kids.

We had maybe 30-40 kids total. We live in a townhouse on a cul de sac, so not the most high traffic, kid dense neighborhood. There were some really cute and nice kids though. Lots of leftover candy.

We had about 200 kids. I was giving out 2 pieces to each and then had to scale back to 1 piece each. And went to get candy from my kids bags from a party on Saturday. I have about 20 pieces left.
