Much like a 1950s women's dorm, we now have an "open door and three feet on the floor" policy when playing with friends.

I too want to meet all my future DILs. So far I must say I have been very impressed with the ladies who chased after him and proposed. Hope he is this lucky when he is of age to find the one.

I know it can be taken by some as funny or cute...but I kind of freaked out...should I let the teacher know? I am not worried for her safety per se...but its so inappropriate...at the same time funny...and I dont want to put my daughter in a spot. If I let the teacher know and she speaks to DD about it, I dont want DD feeling like she should not be telling me this stuff anymore.
For now, I told DD to tell the boy that its not cool for 5 year olds., and that the boy will be in trouble with the teacher and principal if he asks again. I also told its germy and explained to her about spreading germs, so we only give high fives if we like someone at school. She likes this boy and he is her friend, so I also dont want to make it hard on her. So confused...


Agree here. Wait until someone tells you what DD utters with her peers!

My 5 year old is on his second wife....I am seeing signs he could be moving on to a third though. While I am concerned about his inability to remain committed to one woman, I have to say his choices are improving. His latest woman is older and has an awesome collection of star wars consumes....I mean, what's not to love?

my 5 year old nephew had two girls arguing about which would date him in kindergarten.

dd had a neighbor boy propose to her when she was 4 and they tried to hold a mock wedding on the playground.

totally normal...don't sweat the small stuff.

"Missed me, missed me - now you gotta kiss me" . My son is chased by the girls during kindergarten recess who yell this verse. Natalie is by far the fastest runner in kinder and has managed to catch all the boys. As far as I can tell there is no real kissing involved.

Wow....just WOW! I hope you have good insurance that covers therapy....cause your kids will need it.

My daughter married my husband for a week straight when she was about 3. She was engaged to a boy in her preschool class as well. They broke up in 2nd grade, but are still friends. Another boy kissed her on the playground for a couple of days in kindergarten, but she never told me. The school knew and dealt with teaching the boy not to kiss girls. I only found out when the boy's mom told me and my response was that my daughter was already engaged to someone else

My DC got married in Pre-K they had known each other since they were infants at the same daycare/pre school. At one point we had to have a talk about kisses and kisses on the cheek were fine if you asked the other person. They are innocent young kids still. There is a fine line with certain issues but if you hinder innocence you could be setting your kid up with all kinds of issues in heir future.

My DD got engaged on the school bus and decided to include a previous love in the wedding as best man so there would be no hard feelings over her choosing someone else. After about a week, she dumped 'fiance' for the previous love because he is a "really good runner." First grade.

OP I agree that this is inappropriate behavior. We had a similar issue and it escalated into the boy touching DD in an inappropriate way and threatening to kidnap her. She did not find it funny, nor did DH or I.
