But is the problem misogyny or reality. Since in society, men doing women's work is sooo stigmatized, what kind of man wants to be a manny? Paedophiles aren't stupid. They are going to gravitate to where children are. Football coaches, priests. Show me an institutional network of FEMALE padophiles/enablers like the Catholic church or Sandusky. Go on? Where are they?

I'm sorry OP. The responses you got are sad. 50 years ago the problem was misogyny, now the problem is misandry. We aren't quite at equality yet, the pendulum is still swinging from too far in one direction to too far in the other.
The problem is still misogyny: we view childcare as work women are expected to do, we devalue women and the work they do, therefore we are suspicious of any man who would voluntarily take it on.
That is not an attitude I have heard expressed at all towards peoples concerns with a male nanny. The suspicions are not about doing lower value work. It is about a hatred of men that many have (that they are all potential molesters) and a belief by many that men are incompetent as parents/with kids. Many women don't believe that a man could ever be capable of caring for children in the way that another woman could. Read the relationship and parenting board. Hours of reading on mocking and putting down men.

I posted here. But have NOT had any inquires yet. I'm hoping a few parents will at least talk to me about my qualifications and experience.

I know a manny in Brooklyn and I think that's pretty normal there. Artist/hipster/granola type. He takes care of 3 boys after school and cooks for the family and rehearses during the days. I'd think Brooklyn, Seattle, San Fran, Austin, Asheville, etc would be more welcoming than DC.
FWIW, I'd hire a manny.
