I agreed to be more attentive, asked her to let me know if she perceives a problem, asked her not to go through my food, told her she doesn't need to clean the food or fridge because the maid does that, and agreed to tie leftoover food in a plastic bag.

I think you are both lazy slobs. who the hell can't toss their old food once a week and needs a maid to do this for them. Seprate trash is just weird.

The mixing up is why I try to empty the dishwasher myself. I have a system that may help. I try to use the last two spaces, towards the back of the machine, to put all my silverware in. I'm such a visual person, to me it's easy to tell ours apart but I forget everyone isn't like me. Anyway, this should make it easy to distiguish ours if you take the front 5 (4?) holders. I especially love my red handled bagel cutter from Germany. I swear it would cut through anything. Like the Ginsu Knives they used to advertise on tv.

I understand about the cleaners, I thought you were fluent in Spanish from what I've heard you say to them. Anyway, I'll clean the fridge when I get home if it looks dirty. I am sort of a neat freak thanks to my Mom. You can eat off any surface in her house including the floors and bathroom. I always see it as a plus, especially when sharing a space with a roommate, but perfectionism can drive other people crazy. That's certainly not my intention, I just want to help keep your home clean.

She's obsessed with trivia. So now when I empty the dishwasher I have to carefully set aside her silverware? Because a SILVERWARE DRAWER is not an appropriate place for silverware????

I told her to feel free to remove her items from the silverware in the dishwasher first and then leave my things for me to handle.

I also told her that (since the cleaners aren't psychic and no I didn't say that) since the cleaners can't distinguish her items from mine, that if there is anything she doesn't want them to touch, she should probably move it before they come (in other words, clean up your own stuff so they don't try to clean it/put it away for you). She ws told about the cleaning service before signing the lease and she knows what day they come.

Really she's not perfect either but I just don't usually bother to care about her stuff laying around.

I think it was annoyingly overly "helpful" and passive aggressive. Roommate needed to be more direct and say "would you do such and such differently" rather than talking about lighting five freaking candles and opening the windows.

Just a couple little things, my silverware keeps ending up in your drawer. They were my Grandmother's and I don't want any to get lost in the shuffle so if you find any could you set them aside? That would be awesome. They have flowers on the handle whereas your have like a scrolly thing.

The cleaners put all my dishes that were drying on the counter away this morning-they're so efficient!-and threw away a plastic bottle I purposefully washed and was drying with my dishes. I reuse bottles all the time so if there's one drying with my dishes, I'm definitely saving it for something so if you could relay that to them that would be great.
