I have to take him at his word that he is a true conservative, through and through. Sorry but that's the way he pitched himself for nearly 4 years.

I love the total lack of understanding of economies of scale. According to the World Factbook, Norway is slightly larger than the state of New Mexico, and for that matter, the UK ~ Oregon. When will you folks wake up and start to realize that a nation of more than 310 million cannot (successfull) produce the commensurate (sic) services as a country with a population topping out at 5 million. It is a recipe for disaster!

p.s. the unfortunate fact is that we are a nation of "low information" (i.e., ignorant) voters, so any particular vague shape-shifting etch-a-sketch con artist might capture votes with one of the many often diametrically opposed positions taken so far.

No one knows what will happen of course, but if you look at Nate Silver's analysis, the most thorough and reasoned around, this may be more of a "reversion to the mean", i.e., Obama up in a close race before conventions, things may settle right back down there esp. w/ the electoral college.

But who knows?

Assuming you can even figure out which of his many and constantly changing positions the real Willard Romney would pursue in office (I personally think he's so weak he'll just be a puppet of the lunatic fringe Republicans in the Congress), even though his general view of skewing heavily towards favoring wealth would benefit us (lucky to have high net worth), I wouldn't vote for that oily three-faced huckster/bully if you stuck a bamboo pole up my urethra.

Not sure being in Europe will be any better in the current economic state.

In fact, I would argue that the failed strategies to deal with those problems are a preview of the kind of lame, wishful thinking that Romney spouts for us here, and it won't work here either.

The notion that jobs & growth will just spurt just because Willard/Republicans are elected is ludicrous, fanciful, and economic drivel.

It only looks that way because the Republican party has moved so far right. Actually, Romney is a staunchly conservative Republican. He's not extreme ultra-conservative, but he's solidly right of moderate. I know, I've been a moderate voting Republican since the Reagan days. Reagan was a moderate Republican and Romney is definitely more conservative than that.

OP, don't let the door hit you on the way out of the US. Enjoy Europe with crumbling economies, high unemployment, higher taxes, limited opportunities and old boys network.

Perhaps the US should start a new immigration program. Every American who wants to leave because they got a president they didn't want, will be assisted to depart the country and give up their citizenship and in return, someone from another country who actually wants to stay here regardless of which president is ELECTED, gets to take their place and their citizenship. This would help alleviate the immigration problem and ease the path of people like OP out of the US. Win-win.

His opponent apparently ate dog and used drugs at one time. So what's the point? Neither is relevant to this election.

PP here to add that I was agreeing with only the second part of the quoted poster's message. I don't think Obama is a horrible president but I also don't think he's a great president. He's just okay IMO. Will Romney do better if elected, I don't know. I'm an Independent and I am not deciding until everything has been said, all debates are done and any intervening events and responses have occurred. I do agree that these days politicians are fundamentally the same in good and bad ways and I doubt it's much better in other countries.

No one person is perfect,not Obama and not Romney. Not one person has all good ideas and no bad ideas. No one person has all bad ideas and no good ideas. This extreme version of polictics where your guy/gal or party is the best thing ever and the other is complete rubbish is incomprehensible to me. Yet we hold America forth as a beacon of democracy and tolerance for the rest of the world. Right. We are tolerant as long as you blindly agree with our party and our nominee. Perhaps it's time that we stop lecturing other nations about democracy and tolerance until we can ourselves stop and listen to the point of view from the other side, with an open mind.

I can't believe voters in this country are stupid enough to vote for the Etch A Sketch candidate! Suddenly Romney's poll numbers are UP! He's even with Obama! I agree with everyone that Obama is a disappointment as President and as a debater. If you judge that "debate" on how many lies each candidate told, then Romney is the clear winner. But does a fake smile, incredible audacity and a huge pile of switcheroo positions on basic issues important to swing voters make Romney suddenly worth voting for? What about the 47% that Romney abandoned, and now EMBRACES! He loves poor people! He wants to give the middle class a TAX BREAK! He will make insurance companies cover your kids and your pre-existing condition! Now all you swing voters, e.g. middle-class, middle aged white women, can vote for Romney! Yea!

I thought voters were incredibly stupid to vote for George W. Bush, but Romney takes the cake. He's worse than Dub-Ya, and I didn't know anyone could sink much lower.

My parents were Republicans, as were most of my aunts and uncles. They would not recognize this Republican party. I'm certain that, if Obama were labelled a Republican, they'd vote for him. They'd think Romney an outrageous outlier, not qualified to be President based on his lack of integrity alone, much less his brief resume in public service and his horrifying tin ear when it comes to international relations.

Why are Americans supporting this unbelievable creep, pathological "I'll say anything to get elected" liar Mitt Romney?

I dunno, and I don't want to live in a country that wants to be lead by a man like that. His poll numbers are looking better every day! I'm packing.


I heard France is looking for some high income taxpayers. That might be a good choice.
