I live in this neighborhood. We moved here two years ago and love it.

The streets that make up the neighborhood are Stowe Rd., Stockbridge Ln, Post Mills Ln, and York Mills Ln. Here are some recent sales if you want to see what other houses in the neighborhood look like.

The neighborhood events are great but by no means unique as many neighborhoods here are like this. Also, the $540/yr HOA fee that everyone in Reston pays covers numerous pools, tennis courts, 1,300+ acres of open space, many miles of wooded walking trails, lakes, ponds, streams, tot lots, ball fields, a Nature House and two community centers with programming for all ages, and probably other amenities I'm forgetting. Reston is known for its dense tree canopy. Haha, I sound like a realtor, but I'm just a satisfied homeowner.

This house will go fast. I predict this weekend.

Not the OP, but how does one find out something like this?

Having had a basement that flooded due to what they call a once in 300 years heavy rain and flooding (our basement was mostly used only for storage--still a huge, expensive pain because exercise equipment and heat/AC system got wet), I would look first of all to sure home is not located in a flood plain, very low-lying area, or near a body of water. Then closely examine for signs of water levels on basement walls, supporting posts, outside walls and doors, etc. Some people have a sump pump for the rare entry of rain water (that had been true for our basement). Other homes need it for every time it rains. It's also important to consider the possibility of needing a generator because the sump pump won't work without power.

We've been in North Reston for a few years. Besides 12 hours during derecho, we've lost power maybe twice, and just a few hours each time.

the derecho was an extreme situation. I honestly wouldn't base the strength of the power grid on that.

Now, our new neighborhood, other than the derecho (which we luckily were only out a little more than 24 hours), we've lost power multiple times in the year we've been here. Including twice on Tuesday for over an hour each time - when it was barely raining.

After having lived in Shirlington (which I swear is on the Pentagon's power grid - during Isabel, we only lost power for maybe an hour in the middle of the night) and North Reston over the past decade, our new neighborhood's power grid blows.

We're in this part of north Reston and during the derecho we lost power for about four hours. But other neighborhoods in north Reston were without power for several days.

We lived in north Reston for 8 years. We lost power once for 2 hours. Once. In EIGHT years.
