Yes, everything gets washed for kids and myself. Honestly, I never even thought about the dirty manufacturing/store room conditions, but as a kid I used to get a rash if clothes were not washed first-- we always blamed it on the dyes, but I'm sure a host of other chemicals end up on them too.

Yes, I wash all clothing we buy before we wear it.

Ew! they spray the clothes with all sorts of horrible chemicals to avoid bugs eating them during shipping and storage.

Yes. Some companies use formaldehyde to keep clothes from wrinkling during the shipping process. I prefer my clothes to be carcinogen free.

I dont't but I do no blame those who do. I worked in Babies R Us while I was in college and I clearly remember seeing piles of cute little baby clothes on the dirty stockroom floor.

I have a friend who works in retail and tells me stories about how some shipments of clothing have rodent droppings in them. So I wash 90% of all new clothes. Occasionally, I will let something go unwashed if I need new socks or something right away.
