I wish someone would ask Mittens point blank if he ever took advantage of amnesty offered by the IRS in 2009 to those who hid assets off-shore and Switzerland.

I want to thank Mitt for causing me to go back to the Obama "guns and religion" comment. If you listen in context, he was clearly expressing sympathy for the plight of the people he was discussing, and explaining why he was still working for their votes despite their apparent antipathy. Just the opposite of Romney, who does not worry about the 47% whose votes he cedes to Obama.



BTW, it was Jon Chait, via TPM's Josh Marshall, that pointed this out (http://talkingpointsmemo.com/archives/2012/09/just_right_1.php?ref=fpblg). The "clinging" quote was more akin to "You didn't build that." than to "47%".

It's not really a stretch to describe Romney's thoughts on foreign policy as "Palinesque". He doesn't want to pursue an Israeli-Palestinian peace process, but rather "kick it down the road". In fact, he opposes a two-state solution altogether. He somehow has the idea that the West Bank borders Syria. He believes Iran's nuclear program is a threat because they might make a dirty bomb -- ignoring the fact a dirty bomb doesn't require a nuclear program. He mentions that a former US Secretary of State called him to say that a peace agreement between Israel and the Palestinians might be possible, but says he didn't delve into it (suggesting he had no interest in the idea).
