Clint says he figured he was Joe Citizen going up there, and he was determined to just say what he felt. He got the chair idea at the last minute:
“They’ve got this crazy actor who’s 82 years old up there in a suit,” is how he puts it, so they take what they get!

I may have felt sorry for him while I was watching, but having a chump like me feeling sorry for Clint Eastwood probably made his day!
