I loved my experience, though it was challenging. This is a wonderful place to become an adult. The professors and administrators care about you. There is a diverse student body. There are infinite ways to become involved on campus, and plenty of options for where to live/eat/study/play.
Also, Colgate has a much prettier campus than Hamilton College
I graduated in 1994 and would say almost the exact same things as PP.
I would have graduated in the class of 1994 if I had gotten in!. That said, I loved the campus when I visited. I went to Bucknell instead and was very happy there.
Me again - Bucknell was my second choice! But I got into Colgate early so I withdrew the application.
Was that ED to Colgate?

Yes. But best known in New York, may require more description in DC, and especially out west.

Did it cause any tension that you were at a more prestigious Ivy school?
Anonymous wrote:I went to Cornell and for three years my boyfriend (who I dated throughout high school and most of college) went to Colgate. It seemed like a nice school, I was there relatively often. The Greek life was a bigger part of campus life than I would have wanted, but people were generally very nice. I know that my boyfriend enjoyed the academics, and he got a good job upon graduation.
