The current Romney ad on TV is about Obama turning back the Clinton welfare reform. As if cutting welfare will balance the budget and create jobs. Typical coward, taking it out on the poor.

Admittedly, I don't know much about the deficit and how it works. But it seems to me that we probably have a deficit right now because 1) of these stupid endless was and 2) the recession and attempts to counteract it. So it's rather an unusual circumstance that this administration is facing, isn't it? Not sure I'd want to abolish medicare and foodstamps during the Great Recession. How about we end bush's wars (completely, totally) instead?

Older voter here. I remember the 1980 election. Reagan hammered Carter on the deficit and I remember being surprised that we had this big deficit and was disappointed that Carter hadn't addressed it.
