What American dream includes every chain store imaginable in such a small concentrated space? Think about that scene in Fight Club where Ed Norton's character looks around and sees his entire apartment as stuff out of an IKEA catalog. Matter of fact, just watch the whole movie.

I love the fight club reference... I do think there are actually good restaurants in the area, not saying they are the best but there is a lot more in the Tysons area than you think- Chef Geoff's, Chima, (both have great Happy Hours!) and some good ones in the Gallera like Wildfire. La Sandia in Tysons I is pretty awesome too.
Sorry no Applebees though....
Is there anything comparable to Citronelle? Komi? Vidalia? The places in the Galleria do not compare. And I've never been to Applebees.

ITA there are many haters in this geographical area. Yes, some exist in McLean (EGADS!) - would it not be statistically impossible otherwise? It is a rhetorical question, of course.
As for Sweetleaf, it is one of the best things to happen to McLean!

Same could and is often said about Bethesda, Potomac, NW DC, CC, etc. Get over it, it only feels like people single out McLean because you live there. All of the Bethesda, NW, etc moms feel the same way.

I agree, I grew up in McLean and live there now. I don't see it as the perfect place to live by any means, but if you think all women or all moms especially in McLean behave a certain way then you come off as pretty misogynistic.
