Yes this is specific to southern tomatoes I think, I haven't had a good tomato in a long time.
I didn't even think I liked honeydew melon until I bought one at a roadside stand in South Carolina, what a difference!

Sorry to repeat, but in the south....ripe red tomato , hellman's mayo (maybe Duke's for some of you), salt, white bread.

Sliced cucumber and mayo on fresh bread with salt and pepper
Turkey ultimate-thick sliced turkey, warm roasted red peppers, 1000 island dressing on kaiser roll
Cubano made by my Cuban aunt, nothing better!

Oh -- I had the very best grilled cheese sandwich (3 different cheeses) at the Triumph Restaurant at Princeton U. (Nasau Street) over the weekend with their homemade potato chips. It was delicious...they serve it with apricot preserves which sounds really weird but tastes really great. I need to go back and get one. Forget about the fact the kid got into Princeton...it is the sandwich that counts.

I just had to google the Nobadeer and now I NEED ONE.

Cheddar, chutney, and arugula on whole-grain bread.

Grilled asparagus, sundried tomato, roasted red peppers, fontina, and pesto aioli on whole-grain bread.

Grilled apples (or raw pears) with cheddar and fig spread, thrown on the panini press.

Turkey, roast beef, bacon, american and pickles. Never tastes the same when you get that combo from somewhere else.

Man, it's been YEARS since I've had one of these (since moving to Bethesda), may have to go this weekend. I think I still have them on speed dial.

Every time we look at houses in North Arlington, I think, "I'd have to drive home past the Italian Store." And then I try to decide if that would be a good or bad thing. I have no freakin' idea. I'd be fat, but really, really happy.
