Evidently so. I'm surprised she didn't say the food 'caused a stink."

Ahaha you mean the food gave her "stinky" stomach!

Why did you bring a screaming newborn to a catered affair?

Yup. It's me.

LOL! If you're another poster posing as the Chipotle lady, touche. You're good. If you ARE Chipotle Lady, you're my favorite poster ever and I love guessing which posts are yours.

I'm glad I can make your days worth living.

No, you don't. But your ludicrousness does entertain me.

Anonymous wrote:Why would you not say something to catering staff? Then if it's not one of their dishes, they can come to the host/ess and let them know. It's not like they want to get blamed for bad food.

To be honest, though, a lot gets blamed on food poisoning that simply isn't.

In reality, the inverse is true and nearly all instances of "24 hour stomach flu" are food poisoning. Some food poisoning is contagious, in the sense that the organisms can be spread via the vomiting and diarrhea. Gross, but true, which is how it spreads through families or coworkers if you are stricken at work and puking in a shared bathroom.

Since symptoms show up after a delay that varies based on the organism you may not immediately be able to identify the source of the illness.

This thread makes me think of that scene in the movie Can't Hardly Wait when the nerdy kid takes his first sip of beer and spits it all over everyone, proclaiming: "The beer is bad! The beer has gone bad! Nobody drink the beer!" and the other kids look at him and say, "Tastes like beer to me."

I love that movie.

Hmm, hurt the feelings of the host or let a bunch of innocent people get diarrhea and maybe vomit. Tough call!

+1 Who cares if it is impolite or the host's feelings get hurt.
