Totally agree with PP. Plus, the bigger question should be, what, besides, language, are they learning and doing.

Back to OP's original query, I keep repeating in my head something I've read on these boards and elsewhere, which is pick a school that is right for your child, not just because you got in. We live in the neighborhood for both MV and are Cooke IB. We are in the high 300s for MV, but ultimately decided to NOT take a slot regardless (before we knew how sucky our waitlist # would be) because our child does not do well with transitions, and we couldn't see how a 90% immersion model was going to work for a child that may cry the whole first month of dropoff (and we have a new baby on the way, so it just seemed like too much for her.) We also did not even apply for Cooke given my concerns about the after care and lack of energy and excitement I sensed in the uppergrades, though I'm sure Cooke's PS program during the regular day is fine. I was originally going to advise MV all the way, but if you are concerned about language delays, then you are right to pause and really think about it. Perhaps you could talk to MV about how immersion may help/hinder a kid with language delays. They seem to be really into the latest research (hence the move to 90% immersion, which I personally think is a bit much for a 3 year old, we would have been much more comfortable with 50/50). Wow. Where did she ever say she thought she was more deserving?? That's quite a straw man you've got there. I read her to say that it's frustrating to her that people sign up so half-heartedly for something she greatly desires. She also said it wasn't personal.

I think that feeling is pretty easy to identify with. If you've ever had someone take for granted, or treat cavalierly that which you hold dear, you should be able to sympathize.
