My great grandmother was Emmaline and my family has always pronounced it LINE and we are southern.

My middle name is Emmaline and it is pronounced LINE, as was my namesake, Emmaline Foraker. Now my beautiful granddaughter has that name, too! We all say EmmaLINE! But I do soooo love Alice and the poems of AA Milne, especially Before Tea!

It was my grandmother's name, EmmaLINE. We are thinking about using it if we ever have a girl. It's a lovely name.

Beautiful name! It's one of my favorites. I would default to saying EmmaLINE but either pronunciation is lovely.

I am not a fan of the name at all. It sounds extremely pretentious to me. However, I would probably pronounce Emmaleen b/c Emmaline is much harder sounding to me. I would assume the nickname will be Emma (b/c even if you think you can stop it, people will shorten the name).

My DD is in school with a Emiline.

Like the above, it does sound very southern this way. Our daughter's full name is 'Emeline Blue.'

Either is beautiful. We say LEEN for our daughter Emeline (one m), like the Milne poem, and she - 8 yrs - goes back and forth between the two. It will be her decision which she sticks with. She's also "Em," Eme-lou," Emelina," Emeline-y," Line-y," and "Loulou."

sounds very very southern. if that is what you are going for though, it is a nice enough name.

18:41 again, and if you listen to the Fleetwood Mac song, Stevie does indeed say EmmaLINE. Not saying that's right, but it could be a point of reference.
