Has anyone had Ray's Authentic made in New York Bagels kettle boiled bagels from the grocery store (frozen section)

But then I moved to New York and met a nice Jewish Boy. When I was invited to my first holiday dinner at his parents' house, it was my instinct to cook something, to offer to bring dessert. But being Southern and Protestant(ish) from Mechanicsville, Va, I didn't know from Jewish foods. Even bagels were a rarity growing up, and my favorites then were the very goyishe cinnamon and raisin bagels. Sometimes even smeared with the even more goyishe strawberry cream cheese.

That's fine, eat what you want. Regardless of what you eat, strawberry cream cheese is goyishe.

Yes there is. In Fairlington shopping center there is a Bagel place but I think the sign just says "Bagel Bakery". They have good bagels. Not amazing but they are certianly better than Einsteins or Panera. Try it out!

Main Street Bagel Deli in Fairfax is good. Also, the bagels at Wegman's are pretty good.

Punpernickels on upper NW Connecticut Ave.

Brooklyn Bagel Bakery in Courthouse (Arlington). And I'm from NYC too. So far it's the only place that comes close.
