Isn't the full name, "The World Famous Florida Avenue Grill?" I've heard good things about it, but have never been. It's just too far for me to walk, and if I'm getting in a car, I'm going to Parkway.


Florida ave Grill. We live in the nabe and go there at least once a week. It's soul food and delish.

Ditto on Atlantis in Bradlee shopping center. Great breakfast, awesome Greek options. Not chrome or jukebox, but six page menu of delicious food. That's what I go to a diner for.

Double T diner on rt 40 in think in Catonsville seems to be exactly what everyone is talking about. It's a big shiny diner owned by Greeks with a gigantic menu with everything you can think of!

Also from Long Island and missing my good ole Greek diner with every option under the sun!

We make do with The Diner in Adams Morgan or Open City in Woodley Park. Open City has the added bonus of awesome coffee.

Agree with the Amphora recs.

Not sure what all the hate about the Silver Diner being a chain is for. It is a very small chain not a huge corporate chain. Definitely not traditional diner food but yummy food and very kid friendly.

There are diners...just not too many classic ones. College Park has one greasy spoon diner like Silver Spring's Tastee Diner. There are some of these around.

Atlantis in Alexandria is definitely a diner-like experience, and they have a huge menu. Everything from sandwiches & burgers to delicious gyros.
