Government, no telework, 9 to 6. $95k.

At Biglaw I made over $200k .... sigh. But of course I was working 80 hour weeks. I have a life now.

$185k. In-house, but non-lawyer position. Work 8:30-5. Love my job and they will have to throw me out to get rid of me

They don't, which is why I'm thrilled DH is out and making less than a third of his old salary. I can't speak to partners, but associates can't be successful at BigLaw and spend what I would consider adequate time with their kids. Your mileage may vary.

More importantly, when do you get to see your children?!? This is our big concern should DH return to BigLaw (he's in gov't now)...

BTW, senior associates at the most prestigious firms can easily make $350K+ annually.

Biglaw refugee, now equity partner in a small suburban firm, bill about 1200-1400 hours (which is nothing) @ $375/hr annually, and after minimal overhead we all clear about $375K most years ....
