I never go anymore. I found to tightly control spending pay in cash because you must only buy what is on the list!

I spent around $100. Even though I live about 5 minutes from a target, I try not to step foot in there unless I have too. I mostly stick to amazon. That prevents me from buying a bunch of unnecessary side stuff.

I will sometimes duck into a Target to pick up a birthday present if the kids have a party to attend or in a real pinch to get something like sunscreen in a pinch, but other than that, I never go there. I use Amazon prime and buy all of my groceries at one grocery store (no way do I have enough time to hop around to three different grocery stores every week).

I dont see the appeal of target. If you want to save money, there are better places to shop. If you don't want to save money, there are better places to shop. They don't have the most competitive prices on the items they carry.

I don't go to Target on a regular basis, but when I do I never get out of there for less than $100. The easiest way for me to stay on budget is to do my shopping online which saves me from the impulse buying that happens in a place like Target or the grocery store.

Family of 5 and I (husband) do all the grocery shopping at supermarket ($800/month) and wife goes to Target to get "snacks and things kids need" plus paper towels and TP. She racks up $700/month average. WTF?

It had come to a point where I could not leave the place without dropping $150-$200 no matter how often I went. For that reason, I go as little as possible. Maybe every 2 months or so. I also don't belong to Costco because I think the same thing would happen. I'm too much of an impulse shopper. I went ahead and signed up for Amazon Prime so anytime I need something that I can't get at the supermarket, I order from Amazon and two days later it's in my house. It's worth it to keep me from buying crap I don't need.

I often just give myself rules when I go to Target. I decide exactly what I need and I don't buy ANYTHING else. That helps a lot. I still browse and look at things, but I won't let myself buy it. I always just say "if I still really want it, I'll come back" and I rarely actually do. Sometimes I know I want to just SHOP and they have cute stuff, so I'll just set a dollar amount for "random" that I can't go above. Like $20 of random or something like that. It helps keep the spending down a LOT.

I used to only go for my monthly Rx but I have to go to CVS now due to insurance changes. The Target near me is messy, the cashiers are rude and shelves are often empty. I find better prices elsewhere.

I bet it's close to $500/month.
