The lots are much larger than north arlington and the location is excellent. People are buying the new homes left and right. I think you may be jealous of the nice new homes that are going up. Arlington was terrible before the metro so you know what they say about throwing stones in glass houses.
Repeating BS won't make it true.
People aren't buying new homes in PH right and left. Only two closed sales over $900K there since 2010. There ARE people buying teardowns and putting up McMansions. They are usually ugly as hell and who knows what they'd fetch on resale. North Arlington was always desirable, because even the small homes were well built. Pimmit Hills is full of NoVa's cheapest post-war homes, and now it just has crap McMansions to go along with them. If the entire area was bulldozed it would be an improvement.

Which is exactly why Pimmit Hills will never stand a chance in comparison to places closer-in. Sure, it's better than Loudon County but it's still a heck of commute to the city.

Do you seriously think PH is going to be a better investment than NA? On what planet? I just can't see large numbers of people being so interested in the McMansion crapshacks that sprout like mushrooms after the rain in PH. That neighborhood is just hard to look at with all the seriously out of scale houses on the lots.

So what if it's appreciating more than some places right now. That's only because it was so ugly and decrepit that it had nowhere to go than up. It's still a place no one with a decent budget or any taste wants to live in.

That is a textbook example of a cheap-looking, ugly McMansion.
Those homes go up everywhere including the coveted North Arlington, here is one in north arlington so please STFU.
Yeah, but it's the exception in North Arlington but the norm in Pimmit Hills. Not to mention the existing housing stock is better in North Arlington. Until the quality of new homes in PH is consistently better than this, any comparison of PH with North Arlington neighborhoods is a farce.
I'd rather be in Pimmit - it's more convenient overall. Plus, PH is a better investment over the next few years.
