If they were staying to care my children while DH and I were out of town then yes. Otherwise NO.

God, NO. That is what guest rooms are for and I would never feel comfortable using someone else's master if they were home. How do you know they don't LIKE the guestroom mattress? Did they actually say so? What incredibly bad manners. I certainly hope they didn't ASK to use your bedroom. This situation is kind of unfathomable. Who does this?

My tempurpedic is in the guest room. It didn't work for me.

Some people feel really sick on memory foam mattresses.

Could you explain why they are staying over before we all go crazy trying to puzzle this odd situation out?

In this case, NO. The only way I would do it would be if they were at our house to do us a favor, like babysit our kids. In that case, I would. Otherwise, no way.
Well you Won't get a lot of favors if you don't treat them well.

I've had a family member with a severe reaction to that sort of mattress, so they might have legitimate reasons that it's bad for them.

Yes, I would.

Yes, I would and have given up my room. I'm more comfortable when my guests are most comfortable. I've even slept on an air mattress in my own home.

There is an easy an obvious solution: buy a new mattress. $1000 is well worth it.

I they were nice, warm giving people (not necessarily with money, but time), and involved grandparents then yes - they deserve it for being good people

I as raised to always defer to whomever is oldest. So, if there was only one chair, grandma got it. If the elders want the master bed (beds do matter a lot more when you get older) then that is what I would do. It's one night. They are you guests and your elders. It's not fun but it is the polite thing to do.

OP,

Yes I would. If you sleep well on the foam mattress and they don't, why not. It's one night. They're not doing this every month, are they.

What else is going on? Do you resent the proximity? Do your parents live far away?
