Yes, biglaw. Very large firm and we didn't work in the same practice areas, so we never worked together. I switched firms shortly after we were married for reasons unrelated to our relationship, and I miss working at the same place. We knew all the same people, which made it more interesting when we talked about work, I always had a Starbucks buddy and a lunch buddy and we could commute together.

Small company. Met and married. Still work there together happily, 9 years later.

Met my DH at work too. He was at a think tank and I went to their annual conference.

Another matched set of feds here. My agency was large enough that my DH transfered out of our office (yay him!) Still together 6 years later with one daughter. We are in the same building and each lunch together weekly.

I'd have to believe that DC ranks up there with the number of couples who met at the workplace. So many people here are so devoted to their jobs and often very important jobs where a lot of time is spent together in stressful situations. Add to that the fact that a lot of young people move here not knowing a single soul, of course their work is going to be the first place that will look for social connections.

My workplace has several married couples, though they all work in different offices. But it's not a huge place and it can be awkward to discover that one spouse knows something he or she should not (because clearly the other spouse, who does have a need to know, has been chatting). I imagine this happens routinely but it's more obvious here because the company is small and there's a lot of interaction across offices.

Yes, but it was a short-term job for both of us before I started grad school and while he was looking for a "real" job.

My office has 5 married couples, 1 divorced couple both remarried (one spouse recently married a former co-worker) and 3 married people rumored to be having affairs with other people in the office.

My husband and I met at work. We started dating right away, got married about 10 months later, then had 3 kids. We worked in the same office (though with different areas of responsibility) for about 8 years. We worked side by side for 5 of those years. While we now work in different offices (but in the same building), we still eat lunch together every day.
