OP, I buy my daughter's 34D bras at Target. She's 13, so support isn't an issue at the moment. I wear Elomi and Freya bras. Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack usually have some in my size.

I guess I would say it's a mixed bag at Lane Bryant. They have a lot of different styles and not every one is a winner. I always go with a Balconette- usually a smooth one.

No, it's not.

Nordstrom Rack (no pun intended, but how great does it work out for this?!) is my go to, I am your size. I know I need quality but I hate that I have to spend more, so this is a win-win.

Try Macy's - even better if you can find them on clearance, because they are then sorted by size, and not brand. That way, you don't have to look through a zillion racks. Also, try the discount stores (TJ Maxx, Marshall's, etc), as they are sorted by size as well.

And no, you will not find a good $10 (regular price) bra for a 36D.

36D is common but Kohls ain't gonna cut it, OP. Try Nordstroms or a specialty store. I like Chantelle brand a lot and it's well worth the money. Waocol is another popular one

Go to Nordstrom. VS bras for size D are crap, especially if you've nursed. Once you find some that fit your size, you can usually get deals on Amazon. I love Natori.

Once you hit a D I don't understand how you can go without underwire. I'm a DD myself so I feel your pain. But support is necessary.

This! I'm a 38DD.

When I was postpartum after my first, I went into VS for bras and was told that they don't carry anything over, I think, a 36D. (This was about 12 years ago.) They told me to try Lane Bryant, which offended me as I wasn't overweight -- just chesty. But I got over myself and yes, their bras are great and, I believe, made by the same manufacturer as the VS stuff. So there's another option.
