Yep. In fact, there's growing evidence that being super-hygenic correlates with emerging allergies in children. I wonder, given the amount of hyper-obsessiveness with hygiene on this thread, if there's a reason we're seeing growing numbers of allergies in US children when compared with the rest of the world.
I've read this too. There is way to much germaphobia in this country.
Trying to kill off every. single. germ. kills off the good ones as well as the bad ones.
I try not to wash my hands much and never use Purell (that stuff is such crap). My dad actually was like OP's DH and never washed his hands. He rarely got sick/colds/etc.
I think you PPs need to calm down. Can't believe the outrage.

I have to confess that I don't wash my hands sometimes when I pee in the bathroom of my house but in a public place...ewww. After number 2 I always wash my hands.
I wouldn't let your husband touch your daughter until you see him washing his hands...
I basically agree that hands should be washed at key times. But everyone has their own standards. Dads have just as much right to decide when and how to manage these issues as moms.
OP, is your husband sick an unusual amount of the time? He would be the main sufferer of this lack of hygiene, if such suffering is happening at all. He probably has a good immune system from constant, low level exposure to all kinds of stuff.
I disagree. I think his DC would suffer more. As you state, his immune system has probably developed apace; he's still bringing this home to a young child who really shouldn't have Metro or bathroom germs go directly into her mouth.
Maybe in the short term, but the kid would get the iron immunity as well in time. It is how most of the world lives, no?

Really, so the shit is just piling up in there? REALLY?![]()
he doesn't flush. His wife or kids do. For a while the kids didn't flush either...because dad didntAnonymous wrote:You should pick your nose while he's looking at you and stir his morning oatmeal with your finger.
