Kids run wild, deface our property on a regular basis while the mommy crew sits across the street getting drunk, pretending not to notice. Can't wait to move.

Neighbors across the street: regularly had all their MS13 buddies over for parties that spilled into the street while they tagged up the alley side of the house next door and blared music that literally shook my house across the street and several doors down.

Other neighbors across the street: egged on three late teen/early twenties guys who'd just threatened to kill my dog and told me I'd better keep my doors locked.

Next door: indoor basketball playing at 10pm on a weekday; hammering god knows what at 11pm on a weekday.

My neighbor parked her huge SUV in my parking spot, which is in the alley (part of my backyard) and blocked the gate in the fence so I could not enter my backyard (and therefore my house). She only did it once because I was livid.

We once lived in an apartment and around 2pm each day a guy, whom I think was a baker getting off work, would show up with a huge bag of cubed bread to feed the pigeons. Word got around the pigeons and they would all sit there in anticipation of the feed and poop on cars, people etc. It was not pretty!

Now, I'm in a great situation. I have many lovely friendly neighbors, and all the rest are quiet and courteous and mind their own business. It's pretty much as good as it gets, in terms of city living.


How on earth did you get this to happen. I've been struggLeing with this for 7 years and can't get the city to take action. Please share!

If you are using their stairs it seems fair enough for you to shovel them. Think of it as a "thank you".

The houses in our neighborhood are laid out a little funny. There's plenty of room between houses (.33 acre lots) but our side yard joins or neighbors back yard. Our neighors were having their HVAC system replaced. It was more easily accessed by going through their back door so they told the HVAC company to drive through our side yard. We came home to find the truck in our yard which was all torn up. They had to drive through the flowerbeds to get through it. They never made any effort to repair the damage and we later intercepted another truck about to do the same thing - and this isn't a case where the property lines aren't clear or they thought the truck was on their property.

These are also the same neighbors that throw the branches and leaves from their yard into our yard - and they're not even from our trees! These are limbs/leaves from a maple tree and we have oak!

We had amazing neighbors growing up. In fact, I naively thought all neighbors myob appropriately. As it turns out, we ended up with 1 or 2 whacko crazy wanna be napoleanic dictators who think they are some sort of hoa. We have no hoa, they just hate our property from before we moved in. It actually has nothing to do with us, but we have some nice strong ($$$$$$$) claims against them for crap they have tried to pull. I highly recommend hidden video cameras and a phenomenal lawyer to anyone with bully neighbors!

Wow! I'm sorry you guys have been through this! I'm very lucky to have great neighbors.
I'm in four corners and have been very lucky to have great down to earth neighbors. Many have become great friends of ours.

In our old neighborhood in which we lived in for 10 years, we had our house egged, tp'd, mailbox broken, car broken into several times, children bullied (and parents who refused to do anything about it with their children), etc. I hated living there.

We moved last Spring to a new area, and it's sooo much better here from our old one. No rude neighbors, everyone friendly, no noise at night time, safe streets, etc. Feels like a world of difference and I'm grateful we were finally able to afford to move out.

We have a neighbor who runs his contracting business out of his home. His workers come and go, he changes the oil in his truck and works on cars in our shared driveway. He talks trash about everyone in the neighborhood who does not use his services. When I had some insurance claim work to be done, he said if I used him we could have both made some money on the deal. Him and his wife are obese and waddle around the neighborhood talking about how great they are.

They just had a baby and the infant's cry doesn't bother us at all.


For a few seconds I wondered if I had written this myself, or if PP somehow knew my neighbors, too. Similar issues for me.

I'm a PP - it was a problem when my neighbors didn't shovel in front of their house because the stairs to the parking area were on their property, so we all had to walk on their property to get to our cars. If they didn't shovel, we all risked falling. (which would have been a claim on their landlord's insurance.) I usually ended up just shoveling because my other neighbors were older and retired, with a handicapped daughter, but it irritated the sh*t out of me that three able-bodied 20-somethings were apparently too damn lazy to spend 10 minutes shoveling their own sidewalk. (and this happened EVERY winter. EVERY snow.)
