Ah, this is reminiscent of our arguments. I'll head for the door to say I'm off to find a new man and then we laugh and give up.

OMG. Great.

Not mine but my parents would always do this during an argument, they just switched who said what:

Parent A: "GO TO HELL!!"

Parent B: "I AM in HELL, because I am MARRIED TO YOU!"

Sometimes I still use it to diffuse an argument...b/c it makes me laugh. I don't want to be like them.

My husband and I have disagreements, not actual fights. But what ALWAYS stops it for us is when one of the kids says "Please stop fighting." Or, "Mommy, Daddy's trying his hardest." I feel like s**t every time.
