Most people, when they post, are using conversational grammar. I'm very guilty of it. As far as misspelled words, I can barely type on my phone.So, a misspelled word ,here and there, is fine with me.

Yes it does, OP. And I was kind of hoping you would have buried an error in the title of your post, just for the irony.

that said, I don't negatively judge small typos - those are easy, especially on a smart phone. But if someone is railing about why lawyers suck or why college isn't worth the $ and they have a bunch of errors, I assume they are too stupid to be an authority on much.

You should be pleased to have an anonymous source correct your grammar. DCUM is saving you the inevitable embarrassment of being corrected in real life. And here, it's free. You wouldn't believe how much I'm paid in real life to revise and edit and to fix grammatical errors.

Yes, I agree. An error-riddled post asking an honest question about child rearing or health or something deserves an answer with no snark.

No. Grammar/spelling is not everyone's strong suit. For example, my boss is incredibly smart and very good at public speaking, managing people, and budgeting, but his emails are seriously awful. He knows it, so he tries to communicate verbally more than in writing. But if he had a question, I would like to think he warrants a thoughtful answer just as much as the next guy.

But I wonder, for those of you who judge the posts based on grammar errors, knowing that someone may speak multiple languages, that still makes you feel so high and mighty?

Unless you're dealing with a troll. You will never "take the field" if you try to argue facts with a troll. But you do in fact "take the field" if you use their own grammar to point out how stupid they are. When you get them to mutter, "you're a grammar bitch," then it's totally irrelevant what the original subject was, because you've won the argument.

Spell-check is very irritating. My iPhone is always changing "kids" to "kid's" no matter the context, and I use that word a lot on DCUM.
