If you take 95, you can get around the Delaware poll by going into Newark and driving by the Univ. of Delaware. Also, taking 95 through Philly takes a while because of the speed limit but you can pick up I-195 and get on the Jersey turnpike that way to save a few bucks.

I was waiting to see if someone would say this. Then you pay for one bridge in NY which was $5 I think (this was a few years ago). Gas is somewhat cheaper east of Harrisburg as well (get the Gas Buddy app - it is very accurate). The MD tolls are really high.


Plus you can stop at Cabela's in Hamburg . The Crayola Factory in Bethlehem.

There is a .50 cent toll to either get in to or out of New Jersey, I can't remember which, but is is a decent drive, much nicer than taking the I-95 route.

You can go to this site: https://www.ezpassva.com/login/login.aspx or multiple Giant's and CVS sell them over the counter.
