Oh and my parents in law have similar feelings about public flatulence, as in 'that earth shattering sound? Oh, that didn't happen..'
Good-flipping-grief.

Blooming hilarious.
I started reading feeling pissed off and ended feeling cheery. Three big laughs. I wear earplugs once it gets to the time of the evening when my dh begins his mammoth yawns.
Poor thing, he swears he can't help it, but those yawns seem to take so much energy practically sucking the entire room in, I can't see how it wouldn't be less effort to do it soundlessly (for goodness sake).
Like me. And most CONSIDERATE people!
Thanks guys.

OMG, please stop lady. I'm sorry you lost your mom, so much. I get it. But people are allowed to vent!

OMG, please stop policing other people's posts, troll. I'm sorry you don't like people venting about losing their moms, I get it, but "people are allowed to vent!"

So start your own thread venting about how much you miss your mom. This is a vent about annoying habits people do. Sheesh.

Nothing like 5 days of togetherness to make you forget that you are supposed to be lucky to have a family. My parents fart openly. They claim it is unhealthy to hold it in. Gross. So glad to be home!

OP here - I do plenty of annoying things. However, I also have an excellent sense of humor, so if someone makes fun of me and does it in a lighthearted way, not only won't I care, I will laugh along with it. And, if my children someday make fun of me in a public message board or right to my face, I'll just accept it. I make fun of them also. It's what we do in my family. I've appreciated all the funny responses and commiseration. As I said in my original post, I do try hard to be appreciative and not get irritated.

Ever since I can remember, when we were out in public and she couldn't see us, she'd issue this call like 'OO-HOO'. My mom is a singer so when she does this, the volume is at the opera level. When we hear it, we're supposed to come back to her like chicks to a mother hen. I've hated it for 40 years! When she comes to visit and I'm working in the yard, she'll still do it! At least I can ignore it now!

And, no, when she's gone, I am not going to miss it in the least!

How will you feel when your child complains about you like this on a public message board?
