I'm pretty sure MIL is on here with "maybe it's you" and few other responses. Not surprising, as long is she is s follower she is happy. Which is why she doesn't like me

It's funny. I would bet there are more that THINK they reocgnize someone than who actually does recognize someone. For instance PP, there are many who clip their sentences. There are many who are unnecessarily verbose. There are many with annoying writing styles.

I know someone who talks about certain issues, but posts on here soon before or after, which is kind of silly. I know someone else who takes everything personally in real life, so if you know what sets them off, it is easy to tell when they are here. I know another person who would really be much better off getting a real job. So it does bring out the sad side of people. Is that why you are asking OP? Or did someone recognize you?

The more you write, the more it sounds like you are taking the post personally.

I'm sure I've asked for advice from friends or co-workers and then came on and asked DCUM/shared a story I shared with them. I just make sure whatever I'm revealing is something I'm comfortable with them knowing. The good news is I can go on a week later and post about a more personal situation and they will never know it's me.

There is a woman who posts very illuminating and helpful analyses of the private school her child(ren) attend. I recognize her excellent mind and writing style, and I always learn something when she posts.

She signs her name to another internet forum or listserv I frequent, and she always shines there, too.

Just this morning a friend ran up to me at drop off and said "I read your post on DCUM about Ely!" This happens to me all the time with about 3 friends. Especially when we are writing about the kids' school. My kids are at two different schools and there is no one else I know of with kids at both schools.

I recognize my spouses post sometimes. We never speak of it to each other directly. Even though we post on the same computer, I never look in the history to see what's been posted before I got on. I religiously erase my history and cache before surfing here of anywhere.

I posted years ago about a difficult situation going on at an organization my family belonged to. I was aware of all the supposed "facts" because a friend had pulled me aside and vented to me. She has strong opinions and this was no excpetion. Well, I wasn't totally sure where I stood on the issue and I posted about it on a thread here based on what she had told me. I was kind of trying to figure out how to look at it/address it or if I should just stay out of it, as was my inclination. Well, the person the issue was about saw my post, decided it was me and, has been nasty and rude, posting things about me on this site ever since. I have never spoken to her about it IRL but she has gone after me with "gusto" on-line. I try to just ignor it as I was the one who started it, even though I did so unintentionally. I will never again try to figure out a dilemma in my private life on this board again!!!

My SIL has recognized me a few times, and I've recognized her. So odd. And it's not based on something we have already told each other, it's totally random.
