I once saw doting grandparents who had set up a small plastic baby pool on the sand and filled it with water along with some water toys. The baby appeared to really love that pool.

At that age we had a tiny nflatable baby pool we would fill with an inch or two of ocean water and he would splash around. We put it under the umbrella. If your child is reliably sitting up of course.

I'd ask if you can have a room on the first floor if it opens to a Grassy area or make sure you have a balcony so you can sit outside during naps or eat dinner outside after baby goes down. Have fun!

We went to fla was 6 months and one day he slept in stroller by the pool and other day he sleot in a little tent on the beach. No way dd2 would have slept like that tho.

I haven't read the replies, so sorry if someone else has already posted this, but bring baby powder! It removes sand, especially from the diaper area, almost miraculously.

Holy balls, there are a lot of people on here who apparently got piss in their cheerios!

Ma'am, I hope you have a GREAT time with your baby. We are bringing a UV tent, blankets, water, rags, portable fan, pre mixed formula, spf outfits, baby sunglasses. We recognize that we probably will only be there an hour or so at a time, and that's ok because we love being together, no matter the inconviences.

The rest of you nags just remember kids mimick those they're around so if they were acting out you might need to look in the mirror!

Pack a queen size bedsheet (or larger) in your luggage. Lay it out on the sand and then put your towels down on top of it. Gives you a much larger sand-free zone.

Mesh laundry bag to carry sandy/wet toys back from the beach or pool.

Hotel trash cans often do not have liners in them. I always bring a stash of plastic grocery bags for dirty diapers (for the benefit of the hotel maids, and also to keep the smell contained!)

There's not much you can do about the room situation. My spouse and I spent our tenth anniversary hanging out in a hotel bathroom. My best recommendation is to bring booze.
