I'm northern NJ bred, so a huge NYC pizza fan.

Another vote here for The Italian Store in Arlington and Tony's in Fair Lakes.

I also really like the pizza place in Tysons Corner. On the second floor. Really good!

I wish Roundtable was out here. I usually get Z Pizza but I think of it as cheese bread not pizza.

The Vace in Bethesda is on Miller Rd - it's a small street that intersects Wisconsin near downtown Bethesda.

Behind the Chevy Chase Bank lot?

When is Comet Ping Pong open? I keep trying to take DS there for lunch after hitting P & P and it doesn't seem to be open!

Moroni and Brother's brick oven pizza is great. They also have other food, which is fine, but pizza is the best. Place is kid-friendly. Our boys love to see fire burning in the oven and pizza being made right there.

I really disliked Ledo's pizza. The sauce was weirdly sweet, and the crust is unappealingly thick. But I gather that there is a difference between the original, founder-owned location and the franchised venues. We ate at one of the latter in Bethesda (River Road, near WF).

When I eat spaghetti I put sugar on it so maybe that's why I like the sauce. Our dining options are limited in our area and the only pizza places we have are pizza hut, papa johns, domino's, and ledos now. The original ledos is great they have a better menu than than the others. Unlike to other options we have, ledos is always hot and tastes fresher.

I love Ledo's!

Do you put sugar on the spagehetti or in the sauce?

Both

Love the Italian Store in Arlington (but I work in Arlington and can bring it home from CC) I think it's even better than Vace. They also have great carryout linguine and clams.

We also love Comet Ping Pong next to Politics and Prose.

I hate Ledo's...think it's too sweet but my DH and DS LOVES it.

The owners worked for years at Pizzeria Paradiso and learned well. Kid-friendly also.

Thank you for the tip, moderator. I've never heard of this place - can you or anyone else tell me whether it's near a Metro stop?

The closest stop is Petworth, but that would be a long walk. There are lots of busses on Georgia Ave, however. Also, for those who might want to drive, parking is normally very easy in the evenings.
