My daughter has acute constipation so bad that she bleeds into her stool. So, you know better than her doctor?
We went through the withholding stage with DD#2. It was horrible, so we have BTDT. The top poster makes a good point about the aluminum. Many doctor's don't give much thought to natural approaches to reverse constipation. Even after the withholding stage had passed, she was still constipated. I discovered that my DD is gluten sensitive and once GF her constipation disappeared. Adults and children should not needs "medical aids" to move their bowels. If you do, then something is off in your diet. Not enough water, not enough fruit or fiber or a food sensitivity. Gluten, grains, corn, soy or GMOs can all cause problems for sensitive people. Our family does not have a history of food allergies or sensitivities, but I now see first hand how this can play out and affect one's overall health.
Perhaps a registered dietician would be more helpful than a doctor. BTW - dieticians have an extensive science background, so they better understand how food affects health.
