Are these teams allowed to add new players to their rosters right before the playoffs?
They're allowed to but has to be approved by the league if the player is from outside the club. The league usually only approves it if the player is to be on the team for the upcoming season.
I love when people comment but don’t actually know the facts. The 3 girls added are not slotted to be on the team next year. 2 are ECNL players and one is will be on another team that is also in the playoffs next year.

Typically, if these teams have to add a player, it's because a players can't make the trip or is injured. They can't add outside of club players or other GA players. If they did add a guest player (which is not uncommon) they would have to pull from the 2nd team or a younger aged player. There would be a cutoff for a roster submission, but I don't know what that was.

Theres plenty of rec leagues that have wrapped up already if that's your cup of tea 🙄
First year at this level and they didn’t give me a handbook. I’m trying to understand what is expected so we can plan appropriately. Don’t be a jerk.
My advice is take your vacation in the summer when you want. Especially at U13-U15 when it doesn’t matter. Soccer will still be there when you get back and in the long run it won’t matter one bit.
Yes. Miss the playoffs and go to the beach instead. I’m sure that will go over well with teammates.
Teammates won’t care. More playing time for them. When you look back in 5, 10 years you will be glad you spent family time and will chuckle at how little importance the U13 summer soccer tournament has.
You can also turn this into your vacation by bringing the family and doing touristy things in between games.
Also the teammates may not care, but if you are one of the lower half players of the team you may lose playing time next season over your lack of commitment.
If you are a lower half player your playing time is less if you skip it or not. Just like if you are one of the stars playing time is not changed by missing. Coaches play their best players/favorites regardless of attendance.
