For 3-4 people, one bottle of wine isn’t unreasonable, especially if the guests didn’t bring one. People drink too much but if OP is a big drinker they should have at least brought a bottle of something they like.

Do you know how insane it is to invite people over to dinner where you will be serving alcohol and then lecture them on how bad alcohol is and limit them to one drink? Like, who raised you? Why do you think that's socially acceptable?
