Did you ever have a relationship?

When I was a freshman in high school I had a huge crush on the senior who ran model UN and was going to Harvard. He influenced all of my nerdy high school decisions and I should probably thank him for setting me on a path to academic success. I definitely only took Latin because he said it was cool, really paid off though.

People do all sorts of things for all sorts of reasons. In this case that's a good thing: She got a job and is earning money! Don't second guess motives for good consequences.

Sounds like what the old-timers would describe as a healthy, red-blooded American teen. 😂 You appear to have raised a normal kid, and I'm sure she will learn a lot of good lessons from her summer job, whether or not she ever talks to the boy.

Deciding to get *a job* because of a boy is literally a top 99% scenario for summer with a teen.

Are the other reasons better than a bit of socialization with a nice boy?

Maybe think before you type.

Ha hahahaha! PP you are a hoot.

When my son was 15 he took a job as a barn hand.

Reason "girls" LOL

Extremely hard work, and he made a ton of cash that summer. He also learned a valuable lesson: he never wanted to work manual labor again. School always came easy to him I was worried about his work ethic before this job.

He's now in his 30's has had a great career I had nothing to worry about. Intellectual property law.

But she recently confessed that she only got this particular job because a boy she finds attractive, who she has neither spoken to (she doesn't even know his name) works there too. What if anything would you make of this? If anything I'm a little disappointed she's not doing it for a more admirable reason.

Sweetie, time to get laid and let go. Perfectly normal. Who cares

One of the perks of the job, OP. I would have a good laugh. None of this is worrisome.

Obviously she will quit too.

My 14 year old is dying for her first job to be at an ice cream shop so she can have ripped biceps while eating free ice cream. Who cares??

This, which is a shame since OP probably doesn't even realize it, or OP is virtue signaling.
