I’m not saying that someone should have an outdoor black tie wedding, but I think having an outdoor ceremony that moves into an air-conditioned reception is pretty standard.
My own wedding was cocktail attire in June. We had a 20 minute outdoor ceremony, followed by an indoor/outdoor cocktail hour, and then an indoor reception.
Outdoor weddings in summer are horrible, full stop.
National wedding seasonality disagrees with you, full stop.

If it’s an indoor wedding, I don’t get the big deal.

That way I can skip all the uncomfortable heat and the boring blah blah blah and get to eat a free meal and drink free booze and dance if I feel like it. I leave early, too.
You’re being facetious, but there are people out there with this perspective!

No tents setup and it was in like the middle of a field. People started getting up DURING the father of the bride's speech to leave the wedding.
One of the worst weddings I've gone to.
By the end of the night most people were inside with the caterers (BIL and his wife specifically REMOVED seating and tables inside so people couldn't escape and most went and sat on the ground with caterers and stood around in AC by bathroom.
For anyone thinking of this DO NOT DO IT everyone complains about that sh**show to this day.

Poor grandparents are barely hanging in and need so much extra care and attention and everyone is just soggy. Travel and accommodation are more expensive. Like there’s nothing good about it at all.
I get it if you and your family and friends are teachers or something but otherwise it is so miserable. Why do people keep doing this?
Don’t even get me started on the outdoor summer wedding!
Because this is what the bride wants!
