This has to be satire right? Your son is devastated because the coach of a totally different team at the club is leaving? I've had kids at various clubs and generally we had no idea who was coaching other teams and my kids could have cared less. Coaching slates change every year and coaches move around so all that ever matters is your current team coach.

KL is just another coach. He had his positives and negatives. The negatives were pretty bad and got much worse this year. The posts on here supposedly by people who say they are leaving the club because he suddenly quit are pure fantasy.

I don’t feel confident about next steps with a coach

Until they are named it will be hard to sort out

And even after they are named, they will follow the lead of others for the better part of six months until their own plan can be formed

The Team will be fine though because of the players that were picked
It’s a good group and mostly need to keep train on the tracks

We did not pay KL directly
Not sure why that was an option and that should be reported to Club
That seems weird to me

TD MH? We have always liked MH he genuinely takes time for people and always seems to think of kids first, the boys love him, been a massive influence for the club and big reason we joined. This situation with KL not a big surprise I think. Think any deposits paid not to the club should be probable reported to club, that doesn’t sound like normal we always pay to club.

Did anyone else dial in to the team meeting tonight about KL resignation? I thought that the TD answered questions very positively, feel more confident now for the next year. Did not feel right time to ask, but has anyone else paid deposits for summer tournament directly to KL and if yes have you had a refund from?

Potomac will be fine without him they’re a big club, and he will be fine wherever he goes he’s a good coach, sometimes these things happen and both parties can move on and be successful.

I liked KL but I like a lot at Potomac

No. While I am not with Potomac, I know a family close to us that feels the same way about KL. I think he told them what they wanted to hear but there is no way I can tell that family they are delusional so I am relegated to writing it on this anonymous board.

KL was around most of the age groups on the boys side and knew all the players on each team so this is not like other club situations. He has coached my son on multiple occasions despite not being in their age group slate


This is not a good thing. He was involved whenever he wanted to be and had too much autonomy. Once he started pushing things too far, no one at the club was in a position to control him. I've never seen any other club where a director or coach supervisor would just take over a game from his coach because he wanted to.
