So then I have a pot, cutting board, peeler, knife, mixing bowl, and assorted spoons, scrapers, measurers, I have to clean for this easy side dish etc. You know what fast and easy? Roasted cut up Yukon potatoes so I just do that and save mashed potatoes and the annoying mess for Thanksgiving.


But you are already having to clean the knife and cutting board. You don’t need a mixing bowl or a peeler or a scraper (?). So a masher, measuring spoons and a measuring cup. That’s it. And you don’t have to wash the sheet pan you use to roast the potatoes.

Make them in a blender or mixer.


No. Blended potatoes would turn out all wrong.

I didn't know a box was an option, but why would you when it so easy from the potato and invovles no packaging or chemicals? Then again, I also grow my own potatoes, so YMMV.

Always Yukons, use an instant pot, potato ricer is the secret. Butter, cream, egg yolks, and Parmesan.

I like to make Shepherd's Pie and getting the meat and vegetables part together is enough work so I put Bob Evans on the top. So much easier.

They are a lot of work. A ricer is helpful to "mash" them and easier than using a potato masher.

Potatoes, but I agree it's kind of a pain so I make a freezer-friendly recipe and freeze them in Souper cubes so we have some on hand.

I rarely make them but when I do it’s from real potatoes. I tried instant exactly once and they were awful.
