There are several teams out there that are known to be not great B meet partners. Sometimes it is just because the team is so large. There are other teams that are just not welcoming or don't have a culture of treating a visiting team like a guest that is welcomed. This gives little incentive to keep them as partners.

Agree, Old Keene Mill runs a fast meet, but they have like 40 officials on deck so the meet only stops if there is vomit in the pool or a thunderstorm. We were at a B meet with them and a thunderstorm was 15 minutes away. We were on backstroke and we got through the end of fly. Their starter and referee are no joke!

How do they clear their timers? Or do they not?

The same two head timers work every meet and have been doing it together for 10 years. There are also standby timers. It’s PVS meet fast.

Our ref is great, but runs it way to much like an A meet instead of looking to run it more like a club meet.

Our B meet league tries to do this. Sideburn Run does a good job.

I’m the person who talked about pre-seeding and I am also the one who talked about using 6 S&T judges and chief judges. We are not who you mention because we go FAST. Our B meet league teams use the same protocols (at least when we do B meets together anyway). These teams are Orange Hunt, South Run, Old Keene Mill, and Walden Glen (among others).

Our B meets are now preseeded and it has helped speed things along and make the swims more competitive for the swimmers (swimming against properly seeded heats). But our B meets are still incredibly slow and it is the timers and chief timers. Waiting for the timers to be cleared every heat is so slow. Or at least for our team.

OP — Are you a small team where most kids swim A meets anyway? (Sorry if you already stated this.) My thoughts are, if this is the case, 3 B meets versus other teams and 1 intrasquad meet would be perfectly sufficient for your swimmers. But if there are swimmers who never swim A meets, I see the concern. Making fun, A-meet-similar intrasquad meets might be your best short term option.
